Wills & Estate Planning

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

I don’t charge a broker fee where the loan amount is greater than £150,000.
Where the loan amount is £150,000 or less, I will charge a broker fee of between £199 and £399, payable on application.
The amount I will charge is dependent on the amount of research and administration that is required.

Wills & Estate Planning

Your will lets you decide what happens to your money, property and possessions after your death. If you make a will you can also make sure you don’t pay more Inheritance Tax than you need to.

If you die without a will, the law says who gets what.

Making a Will is the only way to ensure that your estate is distributed to the people you would like to benefit from it. Making a Will ensures your Estate passes through Probate quickly.

If you don`t make a Will, the law determines who will benefit from your Estate and what shares. Under legal `intestacy rules`, your estate can only pass to a spouse, certain blood relatives, or if there are none, it will go to the Treasury.

These products are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and we are not authorised via PRIMIS Mortgage Network to advise on them, these will be referred to a third party.

Married Couples

Without a Will, if you have children, your spouse may not inherit all of your estate.

Parents of (Young) Children

Through a Will you can appoint people you trust as guardians for your children in the event of your death. For children over 18, a Will allows you say at what age you would like them to inherit.

Unmarried Couples

Unless you have made your Will. Your partner will not get anything! Your entire estate would pass to your children, or if you had none, be shared between your brothers, sisters and parents.

Separated

If you die without making a will, your ex-spouse may be entitled to claim part or all of your estate.

Single People

It’s really important to have a Will if you are single because without one, your assets and possessions will be distributed in line with what the law says, rather than with what you want.

The Rules of Intestacy will pass your property to your next of kin who may well not be who you would have chosen to inherit.
